The other person can decide whether your preferences fit theirs, but they cannot turn your \u201cno\u201d into an agreement by repeatedly asking. Equally, a boundary is not permission to control their friendships or demand access to their phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Agree what exclusivity would actually mean<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Seeing each other regularly does not establish exclusivity on its own. Ask whether you are both free to date other people, and be clear about whether you mean dates, sexual contact or a committed partnership. Agreeing to meet does not commit you to going home with someone or seeing them again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Discuss intimacy before relying on assumptions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can enjoy flirting and still want to take physical contact slowly. Say what you are comfortable with, ask what the other person wants and check again if things change. Agreement to one kind of contact is not agreement to everything else, and either person can stop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you may become sexually involved, make time to talk about protection, contraception where relevant and STI testing.
