Meet at the named venue rather than assuming the town station and the airport are the same meeting point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.culturetrust.com\/spaces\/hat-factory-cafe\">currently published caf\u00e9 lunch menu<\/a>, labelled Summer 2026, lists eat-in egg-and-spinach sandwiches at \u00a35.25 and tuna-melt paninis at \u00a36, with crisps and salad. Two of the sandwiches total \u00a310.50 before drinks. Takeaway prices are lower, but use the eat-in figures when planning to sit and chat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The caf\u00e9 advertises service until 4.30pm. Check weekend opening and the day\u2019s food selection with the venue, whose building and event hours differ from caf\u00e9 service. If you want comedy, theatre or a gig, choose an event from the arts centre\u2019s current listings; the late-opening building is not a promise of an all-day kitchen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nakorn Thai: a meal with an easy-to-check budget<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nakornthai.co.uk\/\">Nakorn Thai<\/a>, at 45 Wellington Street, is a sit-down restaurant option. The <a href=\"https:\/\/nakornthai.co.uk\/menu\">official \u00e0 la carte menu<\/a> lists chicken pad Thai at \u00a311.50 and the prawn version at \u00a312.50. Two chicken pad Thais cost \u00a323 before drinks and extras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you prefer curry, chicken massaman is \u00a311.50 and steamed rice is listed separately at \u00a33.50. A curry and rice each therefore total \u00a330 for two, rather than \u00a323. Talk about spice and ingredients before ordering; choosing a hotter dish is not a test of how adventurous your date is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its <a href=\"https:\/\/nakornthai.co.uk\/book-now\">booking page<\/a> lists Monday\u2013Saturday lunch from noon to 2.30pm and dinner from 5pm to 10pm, with last orders half an hour before closing. It is closed on Sundays. Two lasagnes come to \u00a331.80 before drinks, service or extras. The published evening hours are Monday\u2013Saturday, 5\u201310pm, with Sunday opening from noon to 8pm. Confirm food service and the current menu when reserving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pick a table and a budget you are both comfortable with. You do not need to book an expensive main or an alcohol package to make the invitation feel worthwhile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Bear Club: choose the music, then leave time to talk<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-bear.club\/\">The Bear Club<\/a> is an independent jazz, blues and roots venue. Its current <a href=\"https:\/\/events.the-bear.club\/events\/thebearclub\">ticket listings<\/a> show individual performances and their timings, so use those rather than relying on a blanket claim that the same nights run every week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This works when you both want to hear the artist.
