The site being open seven days does not mean every kitchen runs the same schedule.
Coffee and a doughnut at Deep North
The current operator list includes Deep North for speciality coffee and doughnuts, listed as open daily. This is an option if you want a shorter daytime introduction before committing to dinner. Check the counter prices and available flavours when ordering; you do not need to turn a coffee into a whole afternoon.
A seasonal meal at Ember

Roker or Seaburn: keep the coast a daytime option
For a coastal date, agree a specific public meeting point and a short promenade walk. Roker and Seaburn are separate options from the centre; sort out transport and an indoor alternative before setting off. A warm drink can be the start of the date rather than a reward for completing a long route.
Sunderland Council reported that Roker Pier reopened in 2026 after storm-damage repairs. The pier operator’s access page says public gates are normally open but close in adverse weather.
